before you read, don't get it twisted. i'm not a ricer, nor am i a racer. i just like my car, and cars in general.
i like to tinker around and build things ... what can i say, i'm an engineer to the car. and since it's my car and my money,
i figure here is a good chance to make my car ... well, just a little bit better than when i bought it from the dealer. some
of it is for performance, some of it is for handling, and the rest is for show. i want my rsx to be fast (or as fast as it can
be) and sleek. i don't need exterior neons or wings that will fly me to the moon. i don't need my car to bounce, although, hydraulics are definitely cool. LOL.
car modding can be added to the list of passionate hobbies i have ... it is very therapuetic. you don't have to be down. you don't have to understand.
this is just where i'm coming from. enjoy :)
i got it september 1st. sweet. i finished paying for it december 15th, 2003. i tried to be involved in the install for almost everything ... and here we go.
the mods i did, had done, or both in the order (i think) they occurred:
oem titanium trim
got this done by the dealer. ->click here<-
aem sri
sheryl and don gave this to me for my birthday. i thought it was sweet.
an easy bolt on, and it was good to go! ->click here<-
hyper blinker
this makes my blinkers look spaz-fuckin-tastic! again, another
quick installation ... less than 15 minutes.
bazooka bass/amp tube combo
picked it up from circuit city for about $70 during an after new year sale. after the install,
all i could say was BANG! it won't drop birds outta the sky, but it's good enough ... for now
at least :). thanks for the install help, don! ->click here<-
mugen pedals
i purchased these from kingmotorsports.com.
i got a deal (of course), so it was definitely worth it. it gives a clean aftermarket look to the
interior ... as opposed to just the stock rubber black. i like!!!! ->click here<-
muxx's dead pedal
since i swapped my pedals, i had to get a matching dead pedal. that's just the way it goes :). ->click here<-
magnaflow exhaust (clubrsx group buy)
got this done at a muffler shop on western ave. it sounds really sweet. ->click here<-
spoon reservoir covers
this was me just being o.a. and i think i just wanted to get something to
dress my engine up a bit. since i have a "mugen" theme going, i'll have to
swap these to the black ones this coming spring. ->click here<-
super blue hose kit
this was fun. got a deal as usual, and it adds some nice subtle color to the engine.
i think i might swap these out to black ... just kidding ... that might be an inside
joke for me and my fellow mechanic boom. nice. ->click here<-
front mugen strut bar
this was an easy bolt on. again, purchased it from someone who got it from king but
was selling it on clubrsx.com.
DIY blue engine covers
i actually did this twice. the first time it came out better, i realize. i'm going
to fix this up flawless style this spring. this definitely gives your engine some nice
color. if i could only get everything to match! it's either that, or carbon fiber lightness
all the way. ->click here<-
rear mugen strut bar
this was a little tricky, because we had to rotozip some. i did this the
same nite as the engine cover paintings. it was a good nite, to say in the least. and with
the rear strut in place, the handling of my rsx is too sweet! ->click here<-
remote engine starter
i got this installed by gene. it took an hour and a half exactly, just like he said. while he was doing his
thing, joyce and i watched transporter in the nissan dealership lobby. we also took a look around and drooled
at the shiny nissans and the excessive 350Z's that were all over the place. ->click here<-
lower black grill from grillcraft
i got this grill because i a sucker for sexy cosmetic beauty for my rsx. it is definitely subtle, and only true
car enthusiasts would appreciate this. hey, i never pay full price for this ish, so i said why not? thanks to
jay and his crews for hooking it up with space and tools to do this. grillcraft lies - this is no 20 minute install.
but, if you have the right stuff and raced through it, i guess it could be. i was a little apprehensive seeing my
bumper come off, but it ended up being all gravies. too sweet! ->click here<-
escort passport 8500
group buys are the shiz dot com. hard-wired in your area ... boo yah! i read up on the webboards and stumbled
upon a deal i couldn't miss. the installation was pretty simple and fun. i have to give some props to she-bee and
joe for hookin' me up with some assistance at the last minute ... so thanks. i've had the radar for less than a
day and there are already some many positives; namely, the beeping keeps me awake and it only took me 15 minutes
to get to work today! ha! i'm kidding ... as o.a. and o.c. as some might see, i'm enjoying it. speedracer aiin't got
shiet on me :P . ->click here<-
tekniq auto racing mats
keeping on the up and up on the aestheticism of my car, and just straight up being excited about nothing i decided
to get these :) . i think they look hella fly, and will give my interior a nice rotation for the summer months.
it is a set of four black mats with grey stitching. this will match the titanium/black theme i have going on. since
it is the racign style, they have diamond metal plates on them. i know, i know. i will probably get flamed for it
since i have an automatic. but oh well ... like i said, this is mostly for looks. and i think it compliments the
rsx very nicely. sleek shiz dot com! :) ->click here<-
streetglow neons
now before you get all rice hater on me, all i can say is you don't need to hate so hard all the time.
i have always wanted my car to light up, and without going o.c. (and believe, i totally could have but i
refrained), i put just a couple of red neons that match the stock cabin lighting very well. thanks to
sheila and joe again, for all the help.
->click here<-.
window tints
i took a field trip and traveled to delta auto restyling in merrillville, indiana. it was definitely worth it.
i went with all the windows tinted and got a brow put on the front window.
the guys there are good people and do excellent work. email me if you'd like some more info. all in all, it was $90
and it comes with a lifetime (meaning, if anything needs to be touched up or fixed they'll do it for free - sweetness).
the end result was awesome. ->click here<-
DIY blackout headlights
now, although i didn't do it myself, they came out great. thanks mark! here are some pics: ->click here<-
a-spec ground effects
i thought that the oem lip kit (now known as the a-spec lip kit or ground effects) was going to become scarce because of the body change of the 05 rsx,
so i mustered up some loot and just bought it. i think it came out fly. ->click here<-
acura tire caps
this is a purely cosmetic feature ... and only if you pay attention to detail will you notice this. ->click here<-
mugen sport suspension
mmmmmugen! that's all i gotta say. it's about an 1.4 drop ... which is good enough for my daily horse.
the handling had improved and the body roll has decreased. no more 4 x 4 stance for me. awww yeah! thanks patrick :D.
DUAL sub and amp combo
know you'll be able to hear when i'm coming down the road! *just kidding* i bought this the day after christmas.
i hunted it down and everything :) it was on sale at best buy for something i thought was ridiculously cheap. i work
alot, so i figured i'd enjoy the ride to and from everywhere i need to go. another plus - the ability to toggle the
blue lights on and off. i might change the bulbs to red if i ever get a chance. for now, i'm enjoying the system :) ->click here<-
jdm sidemarkers
i need all the help i can get changing lanes ... LOL. i think these little lights make my car look tight! ->click here<-
ViS carbon fiber hood
some people get carbon fiber stuff for their cars for weight reduction.
in my case, that's just one of the pluses. i love the look this gives my car.
it's the oem style, so you have to give my car a second look to catch it. ViS
makes good quality carbon fiber hoods. the fitment is great, the edges are rolled and the washer nozzles came
pre-drilled. i'd reccommend them for sure! ->click here<-
monster cable
i wasn't even planning on this mod, but this is for convenience and functionality. instead of fussing around with
cables and such, now i just have the one. this monster cable lets me charge my ipod while simultaneously being an FM transmitter.
i think the setup is pretty sweet. it is definitely nice and stealthy. FM transmitters can be a bit tricky, especially when you live in a big city. it's all gravy though.
i'll keep the cassette adapter in the glove as a back up, just in case. LOL. ->click here<-
shaved emblems
nothing a lil' dental floss and goo gone couldn't handle. mix in about 45 minutes of elbow grease, and i've joined the many with the clean @ss look :). ->click here<-
color matched key hole covers
i got these small covers that fit over the key holes on both the driver/passenger doors. it gives a semi-shaved look without having to pay for the actual body work.
it also makes it a lil harder to steal, but is easily removable (if you know how) just in case my remote locks up. :) ->click here<-
PROGRESS rear sway and tie bar combo
man, this thing was on backorder everywhere for awhile. i was able to get it though, and it's awesome. it rounds off my suspension mods perfectly.
this is a great and relatively inexpensive bolt-on - definitely well worth it! ->click here<-
05 acura oem titanium head inserts
subtle and simple - this relatively inexpensive mod is awesome :) -> click here <-
oem rear ITR black suede seats
the install to this went very smooth. hopefully the suede will be cooler than my leather :)
it looks and feels pretty awesome. it really doesn't get much easier than 7 bolts. i got them
from a fellow crsx member for a steal of a price (thanks ivtecmmmm) and i am really happy with the way everything turned out.->click here<-
oem honda s2k starter button
this is a fun and awesome mod to do! this makes my car feel like a super mobile ... ha x 2. the install was a lil' tricky,
but nothing a helms and a bunch of t-taps can't fix. LOL. this starter button should be stock!
ah well. it's pretty sweet:) ->click here<-
18" wolf g-games in bronze
finally got some new shoes for the whip. i think the bronze compliments the dark blue nice. sweet @ss jdm!
ah well. it's pretty sweet:)
future mods:
painted calipers
racing harnesses
racing seats
din navigation system
gauges
diy black headliner
oem trunk lip spoiler
comptech sc for the auto (when and if it comes out next year)
